Little By Little the Pieces are Falling into Place!

Moises Alou, 40, has filed for free agency. And now the Giants have declined their club option on 41-year old Steve Finley.

These are good moves for those of us who would like to see Eric Byrnes patrolling centerfield at the Ballpark by the Bay.

Byrnes is a Bay Area native who has said he would love to play for the Giants. He’ll be 31 next season; that’s a veteran presence to the Diamondbacks, but a youth movement to the Giants.

Visualizing 150+ starts for Byrnes in 2007 (in a Giants uni).

I second your visualization! There is nothing else that would make me so happy (well, maybe if JT Snow gave me his cell phone number)!

OK, maybe it’s sentimental, but I love the idea of local boyz on the team; it’s the magic of a dream come true to have the boy fan grow up to be a starting player for his home team.

    And what’s wrong with that?

One of the things that Byrnesie likes about the D’Backs are all the Bay Area connections. When he filled in for Radnich on KNBR he said that at Spring Training this year there were Matt Williams, Will Clark and Mike Aldrete and that he wears 22 in honor of Will Clark. He’d love to come home if they gave him a real opportunity.
